The USA TODAY Wine & Food Experience presents rich and colorful moments for guests to taste, savor and explore the Brooklyn culinary scene, from local trends to regional traditions. Enjoy the Grand Tasting: a gourmet showcase by local chefs, emerging talent and nationally renowned culinary leaders who mix with patrons in a convivial setting. Lively cooking demonstrations, chef meet & greets, and seminars deliver unforgettable experiences for fans, connoisseurs, partners, purveyors, and industry personalities. Rihanna’s 5th Annual Diamond Ball to benefit the Clara Lionel Foundation will be hosted by Seth Meyers with a special performance by Pharrell Williams and DJ Khaled on September 12th, 2019. To learn more and support, visit http://claralionelfoundation.org.
Choreography and couture will return to the stage at the 2019 Fall Gala. The evening, which has become a highlight of the New York social calendar, will feature celebrated fashion designers selected to create original costumes for new works by esteemed choreographers. This year’s Gala Chairs are Sarah Jessica Parker, Stephen Galloway, Mazdack Rassi and Zanna Roberts Rassi, Kelly Ripa, and Lizzie Tisch. The special one-night-only onstage program will feature two world premiere ballets as well as a repertory favorite:
NYCB Principal Dancer Lauren Lovette will choreograph her third piece for the Company with original designs by couturier Zac Posen
BalletMet Artistic Director and former NYCB Soloist Edwaard Liang will create a new ballet with costumes by New York fashion designer Anna Sui
Closing out the program will be George Balanchine’s dazzling classic Symphony in C
The night will begin with a star-studded red carpet and glittering cocktail reception hosted by Ruinart champagne at 5:30 PM, followed by the performance at 7 PM, and will conclude with a black-tie Supper Ball on the Promenade of the David H. Koch Theater. Purchase by Friday, September 13 and your generosity will be recognized within the gala program.
TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint is a celebration of North Brooklyn's local flavor, benefitting the Firehouse North Brooklyn Community Center. Now in its 10th year (!), the block party style tasting event will return to the scenic Williamsburg waterfront, bringing the neighborhood’s top restaurants, bars and independent merchants together with over 2,000 attendees to eat and drink for a great cause.
Confirmed restaurant and bar participants to date include Tacocina, Leuca, Barano, Lighthouse, Zona Rosa, Baba’s Pierogies and more, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.
Ticket sales will begin this Monday, August 19th via Eventbrite, here (link will go live on Monday). Early bird tickets will start at $50 for general admission (8 food ‘tastes’ and all you can drink beverages), and VIP tickets start at $100 for all you can eat and drink, with early access to the event, and a gifting lounge with seating
Proceeds from the event will once again go to benefit the Firehouse North Brooklyn Community Center, located in the former Engine 212 Firehouse at 134 Wythe Avenue, which is working to re-open as a crucial hub for the local community. After several years of successful fundraising towards the $2.8M goal, the project is nearly fully funded, with just $250,000 to go, and entering into the construction phase.
