Gala_Web_Banner2.jpg

Join us for the 2018 Glimmerglass Gala, in celebration of Leonard Bernstein’s and Jerome Robbins’ centenaries, the Festival’s 2018 production of West Side Story, and the 30th anniversary of the Glimmerglass Young Artists Program. With Jamie Bernstein as honorary chair, the black tie event will be held April 4 at The Metropolitan Club. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m., followed by a musical performance featuring acclaimed bass-baritone Eric Owens, West Side Story dancers and Glimmerglass artists. Following a dinner with performers, the gala will culminate with dessert and dancing with the Peter Duchin Orchestra. The event benefits The Glimmerglass Festival’s Young Artists Program and Summer Internship program for emerging singers, pianists, stage directors and students in theater production and arts administration. The Glimmerglass Festival’s 2018 summer season in Cooperstown, New York, features new productions of Bernstein’s West Side Story, Janáčeks The Cunning Little Vixen, Rossini’s The Barber of Seville and Puts’ Silent Night. Additional mainstage events include appearances by Margaret Atwood and Bill Murray, Jan Vogler and Friends, as well as performances of Bernstein’s one-act, Trouble in Tahiti, and Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale. The Festival is completed by additional concerts, cabarets and Ben Moore and Kelley Rourke’s youth opera Odyssey.
