Celebrating Sergio Hudson’s NYFW Runway Show

Celebrating Sergio Hudson’s NYFW Runway Show

The stars brought their A+ fashion game to Spring Studios in SoHo on Friday night, where they gathered to celebrate the debut of designer Sergio Hudson’s latest collection at New York Fashion Week.

Just five years after his first NYFW, Hudson has made a name for himself as an emerging designer who knows how to power-dress powerful women. He designed the rich plum-colored suit Michelle Obama wore to great acclaim at the 2021 presidential inauguration, among other celebrities like Beyonce, Keke Palmer, Rachel Brosnahan, and, most recently, Olandria Carthen at the U.S. Open.

In fact, the Love Island star may have become Hudson’s latest muse. She made her runway debut at Hudson’s Spring/Summer 2026 show earlier on Friday, to the delight of her many online fans. Just an hour later at the afterparty, Hudson said he was inspired to work with Olandria because of his kids.

“She'd been wearing a lot of my clothes and getting a lot of splash, and I'm like, who is this girl? And my kids are like, ‘Oh, my God, Olandria!’,” he said. “My kids don't get excited about anybody. Michelle Obama, Beyonce, nobody. But they got excited for her.”

The intimate celebration was sponsored by Woodford Reserve, a maker of small-batch Kentucky bourbon whiskey. This isn’t the first time they’ve partnered with Hudson, and this time they provided craft whiskey cocktails like the Tropical and Tailored, made with bourbon, plum liquor, coconut water, and pineapple juice.

After his quick ascent to fashion stardom, Hudson is looking forward to many more celebrations to come. The past five years have felt more “like 50 years,” he said. “It gets easier and it gets harder. But I’m happy. I’m living my dream and I have to remind myself of that every time.”
