TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint

TASTE-Firehouse-v2.jpg

TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint is a celebration of North Brooklyn's local flavor, benefitting the Firehouse North Brooklyn Community Center. Now in its 9th year, the block party style tasting event returns to the scenic Williamsburg waterfront to bring the neighborhood’s top restaurants, bars and independent merchants together with over 3,000 hungry participants to eat and drink for a great cause.

There are several new additions and updates to this event this year, which will feature over 40 of the neighborhood's best and most beloved restaurants, bars, breweries and wineries. This year’s lineup includes newcomers such as The Springs, Clinton Hall, and BK Label, with a special VIP area featuring Tacocina, as well as TASTE veterans like Pies ‘n’ Thighs, Barano and Maison Premiere. (Full restaurant line-up here.)

This year, the event will be an all-you-can-eat format, doing away with the printed “taste” booklets of years past, in an effort to generate as little waste as possible.

Also new to the festival this year will be an informational transportation forum in a dedicated tent titled "No L? No Problem: Getting Around During the L Train.” Ride sharing companies such as Lyft, Chariot, Maven, Car-to-Go and Ravel will be on hand to discuss alternative ways to travel once the L train shuts down in April 2019, which is a major issue currently concerning the Northside neighborhood.

There will also be a wide variety of entertainment and educational offerings for attendees of all ages. Greenpoint YMCA will host family activities such face painting, arts & crafts, youth basketball, family zumba, yoga and more.

Tickets (available here) start at $55. All of the proceeds from the event will once again go to benefit the Firehouse North Brooklyn Community Center, located in the former Engine 212 Firehouse at 134 Wythe Avenue, which is working to re-open as a crucial hub for the local community.
