New York City’s beloved Jazz Age Lawn Party returns to Governors Island this summer to celebrate its 21st anniversary, continuing a tradition that has become one of the city’s most iconic seasonal experiences. Originally launched in 2005 as a small gathering inspired by the glamour and spirit of the Roaring Twenties, the event has since evolved into an internationally recognized celebration of vintage culture, music, fashion, and entertainment.

Set against the historic backdrop of Governors Island with sweeping views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty, the festival transports guests back in time with live jazz, dancing, cocktails, vintage attire, and old-world charm spread across sprawling waterfront lawns.

The weekend features performances by Michael Arenella and His Dreamland Orchestra, one of the world’s premier Jazz Age dance orchestras, alongside jazz vocalist Queen Esther, dance lessons with Roddy Caravella, a jumbo-sized outdoor dance floor, vintage vendors, artisan markets, Paper Moon photo booths, and a 1920s motor car exhibition.

Guests can also enjoy gourmet food trucks, VIP picnic baskets, classic cocktails from Social Hour featuring New York Distilling Company spirits, and family-friendly activities throughout the day including Kidland, carnival games, arts and crafts, children’s parades, croquet, and the fan-favorite Charleston and Peabody dance contests.

From flapper dresses and straw hats to jazz music and waterfront cocktails, Jazz Age Lawn Party remains one of NYC’s most unique summer traditions for locals and visitors alike.
