Harry Potter’s Forbidden Forest Returns
Some evenings call for leaving the city behind and stepping into a different world.
Some evenings call for leaving the city behind and stepping into a different world. We headed to Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park in Yorktown Heights for Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience, which has returned to Westchester four years after its 2022 run. Presented by Warner Bros. Discovery and Fever, the nighttime attraction brings the wizarding world into the woods, combining familiar film moments with new opportunities to become part of the magic. Forbidden Forest Experience
The forest setting is central to the experience. Rather than recreating the outdoors inside an exhibition hall, the trail uses the surrounding woodland as its stage. Lighting, sound, and special effects transform the trees and pathways into a setting inspired by the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films. There is a natural sense of anticipation built into the format: following the path means discovering what waits farther into the darkness. Fever
This year’s return also gives previous visitors a reason to come back. According to the organizers’ announcement, a new chronological journey connects scenes along the route, introducing additional interactive encounters and spell-casting experiences. For longtime fans, that progression offers a different way to revisit familiar stories—not through another movie marathon, but by moving through moments drawn from the films.
Magical creatures are a major part of the adventure, with Hippogriffs, unicorns, and mischievous Nifflers appearing along the illuminated trail. But the experience is not simply about looking. Interactive spell-casting moments invite guests to practice their wandwork and try conjuring a Patronus. That opportunity to participate gives the evening its playful appeal, turning a woodland walk into a chance to act out a little wizarding-world wish fulfillment. Fever
Beyond the trail, a themed village offers food and beverages for purchase, while an on-site shop carries Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts merchandise. It gives visitors a place to extend the outing before returning to the Muggle world, whether that means stopping for a bite or browsing for a souvenir. Forbidden Forest Experience
For New Yorkers looking beyond the usual dinner-and-drinks routine, the combination of an outdoor setting and interactive storytelling makes this a distinctive evening excursion. It lends itself to a family outing, a date night, or a gathering of friends who still know exactly which Hogwarts house they belong to. The attraction welcomes all ages, although organizers note that some darker or spider-themed elements may feel spooky to younger visitors. Families can review the FAQs on the official experience website before booking. Forbidden Forest Experience
Plan Your Visit
Allow approximately 60–90 minutes for the experience, and wear warm layers and sturdy shoes suitable for uneven woodland paths. Timed-entry tickets are advertised starting at $35.90 for adults and $28.90 for children, with prices dependent on the selected session. The event takes place at FDR State Park, 2957 Crompond Road, Yorktown Heights. Drivers should use the Taconic State Parkway entrance, not the U.S. Route 202/Crompond Road entrance. Forbidden Forest Experience
Check available dates and reserve your tickets through Fever, or visit the official Westchester event page for additional details.

EpiCure for Parkinson’s
The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research raised more than $450,000—and counting—at its sold-out fourth annual EpiCure for Parkinson’s, welcoming more than 600 guests to The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers
The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research raised more than $450,000—and counting—at its sold-out fourth annual EpiCure for Parkinson’s, welcoming more than 600 guests to The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers for an evening shaped by personal stories, shared purpose and the promise of a future without Parkinson’s.
At the heart of EpiCure is co-chair and Michael J. Fox Foundation Board member Sue Bilotta, who created the event in honor of her mother, who fought Parkinson’s disease for 26 years before passing away in 2017. Before her mother died, Bilotta made her a promise that she would continue working toward a cure, and EpiCure became one way of carrying that promise forward.

The spirit of the event was inspired by the things her mother loved most. As Bilotta described her, “She loved food, music, drinking, and the gathering of people,” and those passions became the foundation for a fundraiser designed to feel warm, celebratory and deeply personal.
Bilotta’s story was echoed by others throughout the evening. Samantha Zola and Shira Kolomeysky of Zola Bakes shared that Parkinson’s has affected both of their families, giving their participation a personal significance that goes far beyond serving dessert. They have been part of EpiCure since its launch in 2023 and have watched the event grow alongside the Foundation.
“Parkinson’s has affected both of our families so we found it really important to give back, and the best way we know how to do that is through our cookies,” they said. “Being able to come here and support Parkinson’s research and bring awareness to the disease is really important to us.”
Those stories gave the evening its emotional center and reinforced why EpiCure has resonated so strongly with supporters. “Tonight is about so much more than coming together to enjoy incredible food. It’s about uniting our community around a shared commitment and extraordinary progress in Parkinson’s disease research,” Bilotta said. “At a time when progress is moving faster than ever and new possibilities are coming into reach, every person in this room has a role to play in helping accelerate progress and bringing us closer to a world without Parkinson’s.”

This year’s EpiCure arrived shortly after the launch of the Foundation’s All Grit. No Quit. campaign, its first comprehensive fundraising campaign, created to build on recent scientific advances and push promising work toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. The Michael J. Fox Foundation has invested more than $2.5 billion in Parkinson’s research to date and is the world’s largest nonprofit funder in the field.
Its work spans scientific studies, clinical research, patient engagement and major initiatives such as its landmark PPMI study, which provides researchers with extensive data and biological samples to deepen understanding of Parkinson’s and accelerate new discoveries.
The evening then unfolded as the lively culinary celebration Bilotta envisioned in honor of her mother. Twenty restaurants and culinary teams participated, with the lineup including Bánh by Lauren, Bessou, Cafe Spaghetti, Cecchi’s Bar and Grill, Der Pioneer, Elea, estiatorio Milos, Gotham Burger Social Club, La Maison du Chocolat, Le Botaniste, Morton’s The Steakhouse at World Trade Center, Nom Wah, Perry St, Soso’s, Travelers, Poets & Friends, Veerays, Wayla and Zola Bakes.

The diverse lineup reflected the breadth of New York City’s dining scene, with savory dishes, desserts and cocktails creating the feel of a citywide tasting experience under one roof. DJ Valentina provided music throughout the night, while a silent auction offered guests another way to contribute, with standout items including a signed jersey from New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson and a Pebble Beach golf experience.
The evening was led by Bilotta and fellow co-chair Scott Schefrin, alongside Leadership Committee members Alexandra Cherubini, Bret Parker, Dana Toor, Dev Chodry, Dianne Udwadia, Harvey Silikovitz, Jessica Rauchman, Michelle Tarr, Omar Abdel-Hafez and Shira and Loren Berger.
What makes EpiCure especially memorable is how clearly its origin remains visible even as the event continues to grow. It began with a daughter, a promise to her mother after a 26-year battle with Parkinson’s, and a desire to create something around the things her mother loved most. Four years later, that promise has grown into a sold-out gathering of more than 600 people and raised more than $450,000 this year alone—turning memory into action, personal loss into momentum for change, and one family’s story into a powerful step toward a future without Parkinson’s.

A Night of Food, A Legacy of Giving
On September 17, 2026, the 5th annual Anne Saxelby Legacy Fund Benefit brought together New York City's culinary community for an extraordinary evening of food, generosity, and celebration at Chelsea Market.
On September 17, 2026, the 5th annual Anne Saxelby Legacy Fund Benefit brought together New York City's culinary community for an extraordinary evening of food, generosity, and celebration at Chelsea Market.
Featuring more than 130 chefs, artisans, and mixologists, the one-night-only event transformed the iconic marketplace into a culinary wonderland, all in support of a meaningful mission: preserving Anne Saxelby’s legacy and inspiring the next generation of sustainable farmers.
A Culinary Celebration Like No Other
The halls of Chelsea Market came alive with an impressive gathering of culinary talent, including Carbone, Gramercy Tavern, Via Carota, Frenchette, Win Son, Los Tacos No. 1, and Murray’s Cheese. From beautifully crafted dishes and artisanal cheeses to decadent desserts and creative cocktails, the evening showcased the incredible diversity and creativity of New York City’s food scene. Every bite celebrated the passion of the chefs, farmers, and artisans who make exceptional food possible.
Honoring a Remarkable Legacy
Beyond the extraordinary culinary experience, the evening carried a deeply meaningful purpose. Anne Saxelby was a pioneering cheesemonger whose passion for American artisan cheese and sustainable farming helped transform the way people appreciate locally produced food. Following her passing in 2021, the Anne Saxelby Legacy Fund was established to continue her mission through paid apprenticeships that give young adults the opportunity to live and work on sustainable farms. These experiences connect aspiring agricultural leaders with the farmers and traditions that shape our food system, ensuring Anne’s vision continues to inspire future generations.
More Than Just a Food Festival
What made the evening truly special was the remarkable sense of community. Chefs, farmers, artisans, and food lovers gathered around a shared appreciation for exceptional ingredients and the people behind them. The fifth annual benefit was more than a celebration of outstanding cuisine. It was a tribute to Anne Saxelby’s enduring influence and a reminder that great food has the power to bring people together and create meaningful change. An unforgettable evening of incredible flavors, generous hearts, and a legacy that continues to grow.

Billion Oyster Party 2026
The 2026 Billion Oyster Party brought together supporters, seafood lovers, educators, and members of New York’s waterfront community for a lively evening centered around oysters, conversation, and the future of New York Harbor.
The 2026 Billion Oyster Party brought together supporters, seafood lovers, educators, and members of New York’s waterfront community for a lively evening centered around oysters, conversation, and the future of New York Harbor.
At the heart of the event was Billion Oyster Project, the nonprofit working to restore oyster reefs throughout New York Harbor while also connecting students and local communities with the city’s marine environment.
Oysters once played a major role in the ecology of New York Harbor, helping filter the water and creating habitat for other marine life. Billion Oyster Project is working to bring that ecosystem back by restoring oyster reefs on a large scale, with a long-term goal of returning hundreds of millions of oysters to the harbor.
During the evening, the organization highlighted its plan to introduce more than 250 million oysters back into New York Harbor. The project also pointed to signs of a healthier ecosystem, including returning wildlife and oyster reefs beginning to reproduce on their own.
But the organization’s work goes beyond restoration alone. Education is a major part of its mission, with students getting hands-on opportunities to learn about marine science, conservation, and New York City’s waterfront.
One of the biggest upcoming initiatives is the Floating Classroom, a NYC Ferry vessel being transformed into an educational experience on the harbor. The program is expected to bring more than 10,000 New York City public school students onto the water each year, giving them a chance to study the ecosystem firsthand and learn about careers connected to the harbor and maritime industries.
The Billion Oyster Party helped bring all of that work to life in a more relaxed setting. Guests were able to enjoy oysters and drinks while learning more about the organization, meeting people involved in its programs, and seeing how environmental restoration can also build stronger connections between New Yorkers and their waterfront.
The atmosphere was social and energetic, but the larger message remained clear: restoring New York Harbor is not just about oysters. It is also about education, conservation, community, and making sure future generations grow up with a stronger connection to the waters surrounding the city.
It was a memorable evening that combined great food, a strong sense of community, and a mission that is helping reshape the future of New York Harbor.

Tom Yum Week: A Celebration of Food, Art & Culture
New York City’s culinary scene has always been a melting pot of cultures, but this September, Thai cuisine is taking on an entirely new dimension.
A Taste of Thailand, A Celebration of Art: Inside NYC’s First Tom Yum Week
An extraordinary fusion of Thai cuisine, fashion, film, and creativity takes center stage in New York City.
New York City’s culinary scene has always been a melting pot of cultures, but this September, Thai cuisine is taking on an entirely new dimension. On September 16, InvitedNYC attended the opening reception of the inaugural Tom Yum Week at Lalyn Restaurant , celebrating an extraordinary initiative that transforms dining into an artistic and cultural experience. Running from September 16 through 30, 2026, Tom Yum Week brings together 17 Thai restaurants and 36 artists and creatives across New York City. Through innovative collaborations, participating restaurants become living galleries where food, art, technology, and storytelling intersect, offering diners a deeper connection to Thailand’s rich culinary heritage.
An Evening Where Cuisine Meets Creativity
The celebration unfolded at Lalyn Restaurant , located at 237 West 35th Street in Midtown Manhattan, where contemporary Thai gastronomy met the imaginative worlds of film and fashion. The reception brought together an exciting combination of culinary artistry, creative storytelling, and contemporary design. Guests were introduced to dishes and cocktails from Lalyn’s specially curated Tom Yum Week menu, alongside a short film by filmmaker Art Parnitudom and an integrated fashion experience by renowned Thai designer Takara Wong . The evening highlighted how different artistic disciplines can come together to celebrate a shared cultural identity. From the bold, aromatic flavors of Thai cuisine to the expressive worlds of film and fashion, each element offered a different perspective on Thailand’s evolving creative landscape. More than a traditional restaurant reception, the celebration reflected the festival’s central philosophy: food is more than nourishment. It is a form of artistic expression, a connection to heritage, and a powerful vehicle for storytelling.

YUM YUM YUM: The Art of Bringing Things Together
At the heart of Tom Yum Week is its inaugural theme, “YUM YUM YUM.” While “yum” in English expresses the pleasure of delicious food, the Thai word ยำ (yum) refers to a category of dishes built around mixing and combining ingredients, textures, and flavors. That philosophy becomes the foundation of the entire festival.
Just as Thai cuisine brings sweet, sour, salty, spicy, and savory elements into harmony, Tom Yum Week brings together chefs, artists, designers, filmmakers, and diners to create something entirely new. Across the city, guests can discover collaborations involving digital art, augmented reality, virtual worlds, immersive soundscapes, interactive presentations, and artist-designed culinary experiences.
Each participating restaurant offers a distinct interpretation of Thai culture, encouraging visitors to experience familiar flavors through unexpected creative perspectives. Among the 17 participating restaurants are KRU, Lalyn, Dock Asian Eatery, Charoen Krung, Gigi Curry and Noodle Bar, Sala Thai, SEA, and Zabb PuTawn, each contributing to a citywide celebration of food and artistic innovation.
A Celebration of Culture, Community, and Innovation
What makes Tom Yum Week particularly meaningful is its ability to celebrate tradition while embracing innovation. As Thai cuisine continues to gain recognition throughout New York City, this inaugural festival offers an opportunity to look beyond the plate and discover the people, traditions, and creative ideas that shape it. By pairing restaurants with artists and cultural creators, Tom Yum Week introduces contemporary Thai creativity to new audiences while honoring the culinary traditions that inspire it. The opening reception at Lalyn provided a beautiful introduction to this vision, bringing together cuisine, filmmaking, and fashion under one roof. It was a celebration of the connections that make New York City’s cultural landscape so extraordinary, where different perspectives and artistic disciplines meet to create unforgettable experiences.
Discover Tom Yum Week Across NYC
For InvitedNYC, the evening was a reminder that some of New York City’s most memorable dining experiences extend far beyond the food itself. With 17 restaurants and 36 artists participating through September 30, Tom Yum Week invites New Yorkers to discover Thai cuisine through a fresh artistic lens, explore new restaurants, and experience the stories behind every creation. Whether you're a devoted fan of Thai food, an art enthusiast, or simply searching for something extraordinary to experience in the city, this inaugural celebration offers a unique opportunity to discover the intersection of flavor, culture, and creativity.
Come hungry. Leave inspired.

Brady later joined Cody Rhodes for a live edition of What Do You Wanna Talk About?, while Gronkowski created another memorable moment by performing his signature Gronk Spike during a fan’s gender reveal, announcing that the baby was a girl.
The Roommates Show drew one of the loudest crowds of the opening day. Jalen Brunson was greeted with chants of “MVP,” while Josh Hart tossed Randy’s Donuts into the audience. During the discussion, Brady asked Messi about the famous photograph showing him bathing a baby Lamine Yamal, the Spanish star Messi was preparing to face in the final. The crowd repeatedly erupted into chants of “Messi,” at one point interrupting Djokovic’s opening question for Argentina’s head coach.
Folarin Balogun and Logan Paul were among the notable guests seated in the front row.

Shaquille O’Neal, Authentic Brands Group and TNT Sports’ DUNKMAN delivered another standout moment when athlete Darius Clark completed a 53-inch vertical jump. The performance set a new world record and earned Clark a $15,000 prize from O’Neal.
A staged confrontation also unfolded when Brady slapped Logan Paul during a heated on-stage exchange, prompting Karl-Anthony Towns to step between them.
At the Topps booth, Cooper Flagg unveiled his Rookie Debut Patch Autograph card in front of hundreds of collectors. Flagg admitted that he felt nervous while signing the card shortly before the presentation. One industry expert estimated that the card could eventually be worth as much as $5 million.

City Harvest Kicks Off Summer with Under the Boardwalk
Summer officially arrived in New York City this week as guests gathered on the waterfront for City Harvest's annual Summer in the City fundraiser, themed Under the Boardwalk.
Summer officially arrived in New York City this week as guests gathered on the waterfront for City Harvest's annual Summer in the City fundraiser, themed Under the Boardwalk.
The popular tasting event brought together some of the city's most celebrated chefs, restaurants, mixologists, and food lovers for an evening that felt equal parts summer party and meaningful fundraiser. While guests enjoyed incredible food and cocktails, the night's purpose remained clear: helping feed New Yorkers facing food insecurity.
Walking through the event felt like taking a culinary tour of New York. Attendees sampled dishes from an impressive lineup that included ABC Kitchens, Adda, Bangkok Supper Club, Bánh by Lauren, BLVD Bistro, Falansai, Gotham Burger Social Club, HAAM Caribbean Plant Cuisine, Hill Country Barbecue Market, Jean's, KORA, Manhatta, Nami Nori, Rezdôra, Massara, Roscioli NYC, The Tyger, Wayan, and many more.
One of the most enjoyable parts of the evening was simply wandering from station to station, discovering new restaurants while reconnecting with familiar favorites. Every corner offered something different, from creative cocktails to chef-driven bites, creating the kind of atmosphere that makes New York's food scene so special.
The beach-inspired theme carried throughout the evening, giving guests a chance to momentarily forget they were in the middle of Manhattan. Between the waterfront setting, summer décor, and festive energy, the event felt more like the start of a vacation than a fundraiser.
Notable attendees included Eitan Bernath, Samah Dada, Jeremy Jacobowitz, Neel Kajale, Jay Kumar, Kaitlyn Lavery, Meg Radice and Audrey Jongens of The VIP List, Lauren Tran, Cédric and Ochi Vongerichten, Melissa Weller, and other members of New York's culinary and media communities.
Beyond the food and celebration, the evening highlighted the growing need for food assistance across New York City. According to City Harvest, nearly half of working-age New Yorkers are struggling to make ends meet, while many families continue to feel the impact of rising living costs and reductions in federal food assistance programs.
The event raised enough funding to help provide food for more than 1.2 million New Yorkers, supporting City Harvest's mission of rescuing nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and delivering it free of charge to food pantries and soup kitchens throughout the five boroughs.
As guests enjoyed the final bites of the evening and watched the sun set over the waterfront, the event served as a reminder that New York's food community has always been at its best when it comes together to support its neighbors.

World Oceans Day at The Wall Street Hotel
World Oceans Day brought together conservationists, food lovers, and waterfront advocates at La Marchande inside The Wall Street Hotel, where Billion Oyster Project hosted an intimate evening celebrating New York Harbor through oysters, cocktails, and conversation.
World Oceans Day brought together conservationists, food lovers, and waterfront advocates at La Marchande inside The Wall Street Hotel, where Billion Oyster Project hosted an intimate evening celebrating New York Harbor through oysters, cocktails, and conversation.
Designed as both a culinary experience and an introduction to the organization’s work, the Oyster Social paired locally harvested oysters with creative cocktails while highlighting the ongoing effort to restore oyster reefs throughout New York City’s waterways.
The evening began with a three-course tasting created by La Marchande, with each dish showcasing oysters from Little Ram Oyster Company paired with signature cocktails featuring Farmer’s Organic Gin.
The first course, Oyster on the Half Shell, was served with ramp mignonette and buttermilk granita alongside the Tomato Rouge cocktail, made with Farmer’s Gin, early tomatoes, and vermouth. The combination offered a fresh introduction to the evening and highlighted the natural brininess of the oysters.
Guests then enjoyed an Oyster Po’Boy topped with cold slaw, pickled vegetables, and green garlic aioli, paired with the floral-inspired Floraison cocktail featuring cherry blossom, grapefruit, and lavender notes.
The tasting concluded with an Oyster Pan Roast featuring Little Ram oysters, Montauk red shrimp, and pain de mie, accompanied by the rich and aromatic Corse Blanc cocktail crafted with yogurt and fennel pollen.
Between courses, members of the Billion Oyster Project team shared insights into New York Harbor’s history and explained how oyster reefs help improve water quality, support marine life, and strengthen coastal resilience. The conversation felt informative without being overly formal, allowing guests to connect with the organization’s mission while enjoying the evening.
After the tasting, attendees were invited upstairs to Bar Tontine, the hotel’s rooftop lounge overlooking the East River and Lower Manhattan.
With the sun setting over the waterfront, guests continued the evening with fresh donuts and a selection of burgers, including tuna, cheeseburger, and vegetarian options. The rooftop gathering offered a chance to relax, meet fellow attendees, and take in sweeping views of the city while continuing conversations sparked during the tasting.
What made the evening particularly memorable was how naturally the mission was woven into the experience. Rather than relying on presentations or fundraising appeals, the event allowed guests to experience the connection between New York’s culinary heritage and the future of its waterways firsthand.
As the evening came to a close, attendees left with a deeper appreciation for the role oysters have played in New York City’s history and the work being done to help restore the harbor for generations to come.

Through her leadership at Mastercard, Kirkpatrick has helped advance initiatives focused on economic opportunity, small business growth, financial inclusion, and community development throughout the Americas. After the formal program, the celebration continued at the YMCA's third annual Heroes After Party, where DJ Sean Koons kept guests on the dance floor and gave the milestone evening a festive closing note.
Proceeds from the gala will support YMCA of Greater New York programs including Rowe Scholars, Teen Night Out, afterschool programming, and community services across the five boroughs.
The gala also comes during an important chapter for the organization as it continues its 175th Anniversary Campaign, a fundraising effort aiming to raise $175 million by 2027 to support the YMCA’s next era of impact and community investment.
As the YMCA approaches its 175th year, the gala served as both a celebration of the organization’s history and a reminder of how deeply its work remains woven into the life of New York City.

Known as one of New York’s signature cultural benefit events, the program gathered artists from across jazz, blues, rock, and soul while raising support for the Jazz Foundation’s work with musicians in need. The organization provides housing assistance, medical care, disaster relief, direct financial support, and paid performance opportunities for artists facing hardship.

Led by Artistic Director Steve Jordan, the program featured a wide-ranging lineup of tributes and collaborations. Highlights included a centennial tribute to Miles Davis with Gary Bartz and Patrice Rushen, Buster Williams’ Something More featuring Lenny White, a tribute to Ernest Ranglin with 17-year-old guitar phenom Marel Hidalgo, and a tribute to Cal Tjader and Willie Bobo featuring Juan Diego Villalobos and Sammy Figueroa.

Past honorees and performers have included Sonny Rollins, Herbie Hancock, Tony Bennett, Roberta Flack, Chaka Khan, Keith Richards, Jon Batiste, Common, Lou Reed, John Mayer, and other major figures in music. This year’s edition continued that tradition with a night rooted in artistry, gratitude, and support for the musicians who have shaped American culture.

Memorial Day Weekend in the Hamptons always comes with a certain energy, but Dan’s Rosé Soirée brought its own signature sparkle to Southampton. Held at Southampton Arts Center, the event welcomed guests for an all-inclusive evening of rosé, food, cocktails, music, and summer-ready celebration.
Even with the rain, the mood stayed festive. In true Hamptons fashion, the weather did not stop guests from dressing up, raising a glass, and leaning fully into the start of the season. Tents, pours of rosé, bites from local and visiting culinary talent, and a lively crowd turned the evening into a chic start to summer.
Part of the Dan’s Taste series, Rosé Soirée featured more than 20 rosés from around the world, California, and the East End, giving guests plenty to sip and compare throughout the night. The walk-around tasting format made the event easy to enjoy at your own pace, whether discovering a new favorite bottle, catching up with friends, or simply taking in the atmosphere.
Food was also a major part of the experience, with more than 15 chefs and culinary partners serving bites throughout the evening. From savory tastings to sweet finishes, the event captured what makes Hamptons food and wine gatherings so appealing: a relaxed but elevated mix of flavors, personalities, and summer energy.
